Mr. Usvyat became an associate with Carlin & Ward in January 2021. He joined the firm in February 2012 as a paralegal. Prior to joining the firm he also served as a paralegal for the Law Offices William J. Courtney, LLC. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law in May 2020, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is bilingual, speaking fluent English and Russian.
Since joining Carlin & Ward, Mr. Usvyat has conducted extensive research and contributed greatly to briefs and motions on many of the firm’s significant cases including, but not limited to, Zion Lutheran Church v. City of Garfield, Docket No. BER-L-0886-18, Malanga v. Township of West Orange, Appeal No. A-4036-18T3, and the successfully plead claim of inverse condemnation in Carolan v. Township of Long Beach, Docket No. OCN-L-3379-14.
